At La Marelle, children learn to speak French in the most natural way, while playing, having fun, singing, listening to stories and exploring the city.
We believe that, like most skills, language doesn't need to be taught but to be caught! This is why we like to expose the children to a wide range of activities.
We are happy to enroll children with or without previous exposure to French.
All our staff members are fluent in French and English and principally speak French.
La Marelle's curriculum is designed by Judith. Her extensive experience with children, plus her knowledge of Early Childhood Education, lead her to design a curriculum where children learn while playing, exploring and experimenting.
Throughout a large choice of developmentally appropriate toys and activities, the children develop their gross and fine motor skills, their cognitive skills but their social skills.
La Marelle also goes on many field trips all over the city, several times per week! Some of our favorites include many different playgrounds, Glen Park Canyon, Bernal Heights, Ocean Beach, SF zoo, Tilden farm, the Randall Museum, the Yerba Buena summer festival... We are always ready for some fun adventure!
La Marelle has been designed to answer both the children and their families' needs.

The eating habits children learn when they are young have a huge impact on what foods they prefer as they grow. Child care providers can play a big part in making sure children learn to enjoy nutritionally balanced meals. But it can be expensive to serve fresh, healthy food. Children’s Council offers support to family child care providers for serving nutritious meals through the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program.
Tuition includes full day care, meals and activities.
